I am a visual learner, for many new topics I learn, I draw maps to connect ideas.
After I finish drawing them, I talk through them as though teaching someone else to solidify the ideas.
Electronic flashcards have been a life saver too for things I simply have to memorize.
I recommend “Anki” It is online and determines what you need to review based on what you are likely to forget.
Once you finally understand something, create a system so you are less likely to forget it.
